I am thankful for:
-a breakthrough. I don't know exactly what it was, but it feels nice!
-running home with Jack in the evening through the snow. Great conversation and fresh air.
-learning a lot about my software system and printers as well as my heating system. Because we are experiencing an unusual amount of glitches with both, I have been fortunate to get some extra schooling and understanding of these parts of my business that at first seemed perplexing to me, but I am finally understanding and appreciating them and their value to me.
-Jim and Drew for your commitment to our heat and getting it right!
- feeling less overwhelmed today, while getting an amazing amount of hearty things accomplished
-quiet time at the studio this morning
-realizing that the harder I try to make things perfect, the harder I am making things on myself-hope i get this lesson soon.
-starting to believe that what I am doing is good enough. That I am trying hard enough. That I am worthy enough. That I am smart enough. I think I may just be starting to value myself enough….
-the realization that I actually can take a situation and define it as drudgery or something of value. For example, last night, I spent another 2.5 hours fixing my credit card processing printer. This must be the sixth time in the past few months. Instead of getting livid about it while driving home at 10pm, I found myself happy that the printer was working again. And that was that. This allowed me to walk in the house, feeling happy and laughing with my kids about some funny things they shared with me before bedtime about their day!

I am thankful for
-a missed appt., due to weather which allowed for a great walk int eh snow will Bill and our dogs
-a visit to the bookstore with Emma
-my time with Julie G. this morning
Thank you, Julie, for stepping into the fire with me.
Jack continues to crack me up. Last evening he shared with us that he thought orange juice came from mens' breasts. When he was much younger he drank only milk, OJ and water. He knew I was the milk producer. Water came from the faucet and that left him with the only logical conclusion, his dad produced the orange juice.

I am grateful for:
Breakfast for Dinner made by Jack, Emma and Bill. We had set it up in the morning, everyone with their assigned jobs. I figured by the time the evening came and we all got home from work and school, we would instead find something from the freezer to serve as a runner up meal. But everyone was committed to have Breakfast for dinner tonight. While I was't necessarily in the mood for eggs and french toast, it turned out to be an amazingly nurturing meal in many ways.
A great yoga class with Jenna today.
I loved the smile that Kathie S. gave Jenna today. Wish I could remember what was said to warrant it, but it was a very telling acknowledgment.
Decorating our tree.

I am thankful for:
- my prayer being answered today
-for Jack and I deciding to change our morning plans and go to Uncle Joe's for Breakfast instead for good food, meaningful conversation and a great memory. Unexpected Christmas shopping with him turned out to be fun!
-spending some time getting house/studio work done and enjoying it
-Jenna teaching my class tonight so I could spend time with my family cutting our tree down. Her calling me afterwards to say thank you and that she has so much fun!
-The kids outside selling hot cocoa to the many cars on our street waiting to see the holiday show at our nieghbors

I am thankful for the teenage boy who held the door open for me, today at Jack's basketball game, allowing me to go in first. I heard his father tell him what a gentleman he was. Very cool.
I am thankful for watching Jack play basketball today and seeing him start off further along than where he left off last year. More fearless. More confident. Willing to take more risks.
I am thankful for ending the night with watching a movie with Bill and the kids, after us all having a stressful night with each other.

I am thankful for:
-sitting in Emma's peacock chair i n her freshly Christmas decorated room, chatting casually about her day
-Jack making the right decision for himself regarding wrestling, regardless of others expectations of what wold be right for him
-A lot of tears today
-An argument with Bill that will eventually clear out some things…
-Ann's help with the printer this morning.

I am thankful tonight for:
-Again, sitting in Emma's peacock chair and our conversation.
After I make the comment that she is lucky, Emma tells me how lucky I am.
Being curious and surprised I ask, "Why?"
Emma says, "Well, for one thing, you opened up your own yoga studio. Come on Mom."
And when I tell her, "Yes, but it has been so much harder than I thought.", she responds, "Mom, you knew it was going to be hard and you've done hard things before."
She then continues on…"You are also lucky because you have a house to live in. You are not homeless. You have a lot of family around you and you have a great husband and two great kids." (This last one said very matter of fact.)
I am thankful for yoga class tonight. Sweating and stretching.
Dinner and power shopping with Bill. Since we showed up to the mall at 8:40, with it closing at nine, it ended up being a very precise and efficient trip! No impulse purchases or wondering around.

Bikram Yoga Hamburg has been open for just a little over a year. When I look back over the year, I am still trying to get clear on how I ended up where I am today. It is still hard for me to sit and understand all that has happened over the past year and to see where this is all heading.
I have wanted many times to sit and write, but have had difficulty putting into words my experiences of the past year.
This december, we have started gratitude journals at the studio. I have decided to post my entires as a way to get back into my writing and to gain a clear understanding of the direction I am going with the studio.

I am grateful:
- to be teaching this morning
-for being in the studio alone listening to Melissa E., remembering why I am doing this
-for all the students who shoe up and work hard, reminding me of how big this is
-for the many laughs this Thanksgiving year
-for a great husband and two amazing kids
-for my two dogs who are always just hanging around ready to be with us
